Description of Implant Management Services
Consultants will analyze all the data provided by the client communicating the details clearly in charts and reports that display important facts and trends. A customized action plan is developed within the first few weeks in order to maintain the momentum gathered during data collection. The project doesn’t just compare the client with peer facilities, but documents the actual differences in clinical practice within the department to consider for clinical improvements. Clients are provided with knowledge to solve this year's problems -- this year.

Controls
While reviewing baseline data, consultants will conduct various reviews of OR operations, implant charging and record keeping, materials management processes and management reports to assure stability in pricing after the contracts are executed.
Baselines
While auditing the controls needed for maintaining implant pricing, consultants will review detailed implant data collected, observe cases, interview key department heads and leadership to identify improvement opportunities in Clinical Practices, Resource Utilization, Pricing, and Formulary Management.
Strategy Development
Consultants will facilitate a work session with key stakeholders to develop detailed next steps for execution of effective purchase agreements. Balancing margin improvement with physician incentives is the critical link pin to effective implementation and large savings.
Execute Sourcing Agreement
Clinical consultants will develop the project timeline, meeting milestones, assist in aligning physician goals with those of the facilities, coach executive liaisons to understand surgeons needs and provide on-site support during development of a sustainable implant purchase agreement.
Should some external physician assistance be required, we have access to orthopedic/neurosurgical physicians that can assist in the process.
Managing the Agreement
Clinical consultants will review and provide support during the first 6 months of the purchase agreement in order to prevent slippage in pricing or contract utilization. If needed, we are prepared to provide on-going support services ranging from actively managing the agreement, negotiating discrepancies, adding new technology or product substitutions, to product formulary coordination with the CDM and materials item master, coding validation, and maintaining implant logs on a daily basis.
